Maya

Welcome Maya to Magnus and Friends.

She came into this world at a pint-sized 2.5 kg, but she's healthy and thriving and surrounded with love.

She wanted to come out earlier than expected so after 3 days of false and/or erratic contractions, my labour was induced at the hospital.  However the whole delivery experience was so much easier than the first time around that after it was done I giddily giggled yes to my midwife's parting line of, "see you next year" - but that was just the painkillers talkin'…

On the same theme of ease, Maya has thus far been a very lady-like newborn.  She almost never screams, and even her crying is not very frequent.  Often she can self-soothe when she is lying alone in her bassinet or crib.

My parents arrived in Dubai the evening she was born, just in the nick of time to take good care of Magnus while I was in the hospital with Maya for a few days.  Kendrick was driving across town a lot, spending a couple of nights in the hospital with me while working from home during the day.  Our housekeeper has been an enormous help filling in the gaps for babysitting and just supporting the whole household in general to keep us all well fed and clean.

Here are some pictures of the past few days:

There is so much more to write but not enough time.  We are blessed as it is to have enough support now for me to put up this entry.

Lots of love to family and friends across the world, hope to introduce you all to Maya in person very soon!!
